It’s December 2020, and if you’re like me, then you’ve probably exhausted all your kids' favorite TV shows, colored through every coloring book in the house, and are checking Pinterest a few times a day for new ideas of fun things to do at home.
Our newest homeschool theme has been JURASSIC WORLD: CAMP CRETACEOUS! The only way I’ve been surviving as I navigate this season is by having fun and not stressing about grade levels - our kids will learn, and its just our job this year to make sure they still will love learning when the time comes.
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is now streaming with 8 episodes that are completely binge-worthy and set the stage for fun and easy “lessons”! Set against the timeline of the blockbuster film Jurassic World, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous follows a group of six teenagers trapped at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. When dinosaurs are unleashed across the island, each kid realizes that their survival is in their hands. With no way to reach the outside world, the characters bond as they band together to survive.
From a parent’s perspective, this show is truly enjoyable to watch and spend time with your kids! Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow, and Frank Marshall are all on the production team, bringing the OG creativity of the Jurassic franchise to this series! There’s plenty of action and storyline that the whole family can enjoy - from my 3 year old daughter to my husband and me!
We’ve mixed fun with education - we have “Jurassic lessons”, complete with POP SECRET® Popcorn to watch an episode together. We printed fun activity sheets to color, and pulled out our dinosaur toys for some kinetic play! For my older boys, they’ve practiced writing out what they think will happen next, and we read about what the Jurassic period was really like together!
If you haven’t streamed Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous yet - you need to! Whether you want to use it for a fun school week, or you just want to stream something new, this series is one you won’t want to miss out on!
